Things were so different last year, just like they were different the year before and so on, but somehow, this past year seems that much more monumental. So a handful of things here...

The first is that, regarding our anti-rehab center plans, I've drawn up a couple of maps of Mungo's, at least from memory. They may not be accurate any longer and the rehab center isn't on them in any way, shape or form, of course, but they're here for perusal and planning. I also tried to include who I remembered as the security and staff for the hospital, though again, they might not still be there, depending on what sorts of changes the New Powers That Be have made.

The second (okay, it's not really a handful) is...I don't know if anyone knows who Georgina Smythe is, but has anyone seen her? She's Kingsley's partner and he journalled me to say that he didn't know where she was, so I told him that I'd ask you lot. If anyone has seen her or maybe knows anything about where she is, please let Kingsley (or me) know. He's pretty worried about her.

There's been a lot of talk lately about how shops are refusing to sell to Muggleborns and you can't go anywhere without hearing about boycotts and that sort of thing. Personally, I tend to side with the boycotters...I don't see what purpose refusing to sell/provide service to Muggleborns could really serve in the long run.

I mean, speaking as a Healer, I can tell you that I've seen the blood of people who are purebloods, Muggleborn, and everything in between, and...there's really no difference at all. It's the same. Serves the same function, flows the same way, no matter who your parents are, you need it to survive. You can't even tell that someone's Muggleborn just by looking at them, which is what makes the "refusing to sell to Muggleborns" thing that much stranger, when you think about it. I mean, how can you tell? It's not as if they wear signs, and I highly doubt that any shopkeeper with half a brain would see a customer coming in to buy half the merchandise in their store and then refuse to sell it all to them because they find out for whatever reason that the patron's Muggleborn. That's just bad business.

I don't know. I guess what I'm saying is that I think discrimination is horrible anyway, but to discriminate based on something that you can't really see any physical signs of or anything along those lines just seems beyond ridiculous.

I think the cold has gone on long enough. It would be nice to see the sun start behaving as a sun should and being warm again, and it would be nice to see green grass again instead of mud. It would also be nice to know that a week from today, there will be plenty of beer available for the Irish among us.

I wonder...does Welsh count as a foreign language or is it exempt because it's the same island? But then again, if we're talking same island, I suppose Irish Gaelic would count under the evil foreign languages/accents?

Also, I wonder who ever said that a terrorist can't speak Italian or French or even proper English?

Remus will be alright, eventually. He had a pretty heinous bite on his shoulder and...well, he was (and still is) burnt pretty badly, but he's stable now. There will definitely be some scarring, and I know that it's going to take him a while to recover completely, particularly from the burns, but he'll definitely live and make, at the very least, a decent recovery.

If there's anyone else that was involved last night that hasn't been seen yet, even if you think you're not hurt, now's the time to stop by. I'd rather be safe than sorry, all things considered, and at the very least, I'd like to give some potions for smoke inhalation to the lot of you.

So first off, I finished tests on the vaccine and, ladies and gentlemen, sometimes a vaccine is just a vaccine, apparently. There's nothing out of the ordinary that I can find about our sample, which is, admittedly, fairly disappointing, but at least they weren't doing fishy things to Muggleborns before the world went to hell, right?
